Tomorrow marks International Women's Day, and to commemorate this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending an event in Navsari district, Gujarat. What stands out is that women police officers will be responsible for providing security for the Prime Minister during this event. The Gujarat state minister, Harsh Sanghvi, confirmed that only female police personnel would be handling the security arrangements for this event. Prime Minister's Security Handled Only by Women for the First Time in the Country
Minister Harsh Sanghvi further clarified that more than 2,300 women police officers, ranging from IPS officers to constables, will be responsible for the security. This includes over 2,100 constables, 187 Sub-Inspectors, 61 Police Inspectors, 16 DSPs, five SPs, one IG, and one Additional DGP. Senior woman IPS officer and Home Department Secretary, Nipunna Torawane, will oversee the security arrangements.
This initiative sends a strong message on International Women’s Day, showcasing the vital role women play in making Gujarat a safer and more secure state.
