Nominations for Teacher MLCs Begin Today
The nomination process for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teacher MLC elections begins today at Nalgonda Collectorate. The elections are scheduled for March 27, with results to be declared on March 3. In other political updates, Congress has announced candidates for the Karimnagar-Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad Graduate MLC seat, while BRS plans to field a BC candidate, Prasanna Harikrishna. Former Karimnagar Mayor Sardar Ravinder Singh is set to contest as a rebel candidate.
Nominations for Teacher MLCs Start Today
Hyderabad: The nomination process for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teacher MLC elections will begin today at the Nalgonda Collectorate. Candidates from the three districts will submit their nominations at the Nalgonda Collectorate. Nominations will be accepted between 11 AM and 3 PM. The scrutiny of nominations will take place on the 11th of this month, followed by withdrawals on the 13th. The polling will be conducted on the 27th of this month, and the results will be counted on March 3.
In total, 200 polling stations have been set up across the district for the election, where 24,905 teachers will exercise their voting rights.
The current MLC, Alugubelli Narsimha Reddy's term will end on the 29th of next month. The State Election Commission had announced the schedule for the election on the 29th of last month and will release the official notification today. Nalgonda Collector, Ila Tripathi, will be serving as the Returning Officer, and nominations will be accepted until the 10th of this month.
In other news, for the Karimnagar-Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad Graduate MLC seat, the Congress party has already declared its candidates, Narendra Reddy and Anji Reddy. Meanwhile, BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) has decided to move forward with a BC (Backward Classes) candidate. Prasanna Harikrishna, who was disappointed with Congress's denial of a ticket, is expected to be announced as their candidate. BRS leaders KTR and Harish Rao have reportedly submitted this proposal to party chief KCR, and an official announcement is expected today. Additionally, former Karimnagar Mayor Sardar Ravinder Singh, who had sought a BRS ticket, has decided to contest as a rebel candidate.
