Since then, several rounds of diplomatic and military discussions were held. In 2024, Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met during the BRICS summit in Kazan, marking a turning point in the relations. Following this, troops from both sides retreated from areas of tension along the border, restoring the status quo. Furthermore, China is hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit this year, and Prime Minister Modi's participation is expected to be of great significance.
